Description

Arthur Conan Doyle’s super-sleuth Sherlock Holmes was created in Southsea, Portsmouth in 1886, while Doyle was working as a GP.

The world’s first consulting detective first appeared in Doyle’s novel A Study In Scarlet the following year, in the 1887 Beeton’s Christmas Annual.

To celebrate the literary connection with the ‘birthplace’ of Sherlock Holmes, we have produced this  lovely 325ml mug with a unique design by Southsea author and designer, Matt Wingett.

The design includes Sherlock in his deerstalker hat, his pipe and his magnifying glass – the absolutely unmistakable accessories for the genius Baker Street.

Sherlock Holmes was brought his tea in bone china by Mrs Hudson, but we are sure he would approve of this stylish design that brings you the beverage of your choice while you are in the midst of your cogitations, considerations and deductions!

This mug is printed in seaside blue on a white background to a unique design and will be sent out from Southsea, because we are based just half a mile from where Arthur Conan Doyle once lived and wrote.
